Before I get to the book, I think it’s important to address the hard-core skeptics.
I understand why most people question whether or not reincarnation is real. After all, we can’t bring back physical evidence from the past.
However, after researching reincarnation for many years, it still amazes me that so many people refuse to even consider the possibility that they have lived past lives, or even mock others who do.
Hardcore skeptics of reincarnation are certainly entitled to their opinion, but I’ve found that most of them have little to no understanding of the subject. Until they’ve objectively researched the topic and experienced past life regression, they’re basing their position on the (usually uneducated) opinions of other people.
Read my blog post about why I think some people are so critical of reincarnation and anyone who believes in it.
It’s my hope that a new book by Dr. Jim Tucker, a Bonner-Lowry Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia, can help change the perception of reincarnation.
In Return to Life: Extraordinary Cases of Children Who Remember Past Lives, Dr. Tucker used strict scientific methods to research the children’s statements with details of the deceased person they claimed to be. Dr. Tucker acknowledges that these cases are not absolute proof of reincarnation, but that, “the evidence provided by these cases makes it hard to come up with an adequate explanation.”
Read about four cases from the book here.
Dr. Tucker isn’t the first to research past life recollections of children. The late Dr. Stevenson, former head of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia, devoted over forty years on over 3000 cases of the scientific documentation of past life memories of children from all over the world. Many skeptics and scholars agree that these cases offer the best evidence yet for reincarnation.
