A new study by Dr. Madhav Goyal, at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, found that “meditation appeared to provide as much relief from some anxiety and depression symptoms as what other studies have found from anti-depressants.”
It’s important to note that the patients they studied did not typically have full-blown anxiety or depression.
Fortunately, more and more people are realizing the link between their diet, exercise habits, and how they feel.
According to this information, there’s proof that depression is not the result of a chemical imbalance in the brain.
In some cases, medication might be the best solution. Otherwise (or at least in addition to medication), avoiding junk food and sugar, eating plenty of healthy fats and quality protein, regular exercise, quality sleep, vitamin D (preferably through direct sunshine), and daily meditation can be the magic formula that helps you feel happy to be alive and enjoy life again. Personally, I’ve learned through experience that if I didn’t stick to this formula I would need medication to get through the day.
There’s another solution to overcoming depression that’s effective in many cases: past life regression. Just as more traditional therapy can help overcome childhood and other present life issues, past life regression can help discover, address, and release the root cause of issues.
Spirit attachment or spirit possession can also sometimes cause depression.
Talk with your doctor before giving up anti-depressants, but keep in mind that many doctors are not open to some alternatives to medication.
