Venus goes retrograde July 25th – September 6th 2015.
Don’t worry, the world isn’t going to end, but you may find yourself in love life turmoil if you’re not careful. Venus retrograde is an affliction, not a favorable sign.
Venus retrograde relates to everything Venus rules, such as your love life, friends, beauty, fashion, jewelry, design, the arts, and pleasure.
As Scott Petullo describes in his blog post, “Romantic connections from the past, as well as new ones, seem much more enchanting under Venus Retrograde, until after the retrograde period, when you come to your senses.”
As Scott also notes, even though Venus retrograde is only one indicator of many to consider and means different things to everyone (based on the unique patterns in your comprehensive charts), it’s a good time to be extra cautious in your love life.
Former flames reappearing and obsessing about “the one that got away” is common during Venus retrograde.
Kindly remind yourself you’re likely not with a former flame for good reasons. During Venus retrograde it’s easy to forget those reasons and get caught up in emotion.
As far as “the one that got away,” if it was meant to be, it would have been.
Now is a great time to let go. Mentally thank the person for the lessons, fond memories or inspiration, then tell yourself (gently and often if needed) it’s over and time to let go. This will be easier the more you do it.
Letting go won’t prevent you two from coming together again at a future time and, or in a future life if it’s meant to be, but it will remove that block from your love life now. Otherwise you’ll stay stuck and miss valuable opportunities.
So now that you know more about Venus retrograde, you can sit back and watch the fireworks in other peoples’ love lives, and avoid any unnecessary drama in your own.
