“What is he thinking?” That’s one of the most common questions asked of psychics. Variations include, “Does she like me?” “Does he feel the same?” and “Is she thinking about me?”
I remember a client who spent months agonizing over whether her coworker shared her feelings. She’d analyzed every smile and every casual conversation. In the end, all that mental energy had only left her exhausted and no closer to an answer.
The Hard Truth About Mind Reading
It’s completely natural to want to know what someone thinks about you, especially when your heart is involved. The fear of embarrassment or rejection can be paralyzing. However, here’s the truth: it’s not your right to know what another person is thinking unless they choose to share it with you.
Taking the Risk
Sometimes you’ll have to gather your courage and make it clear how you feel. Yes, they might not reciprocate your feelings. But isn’t it better to know and move forward than to remain stuck in uncertainty? Even if you ask directly, remember that some people, out of politeness or shyness, might not give you a straight answer.
A Better Approach
Here’s what you can do instead: meditate on whether pursuing this person aligns with your best interests (and in what capacity), and if so, whether it’s a good idea for you to make it clear you are interested. You may not get insight right away, but if you pay attention, you will get signs in the following days and weeks. During this time, pay close attention to how you feel when you think about them.
The Magic of Letting Go
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is release your grip on the situation. Whether or not you get any hints about your meditation questions, letting go can work like magic. It may not be easy, but once you detach from your desire to be with the person, it’s much more likely that the situation will become clearer to you and what is meant to be will unfold naturally.
Letting go doesn’t mean giving up. Rather, it means accepting the present moment exactly as it is, without trying to change it. It also means allowing situations to unfold at their natural pace, without forcing them. Most importantly, it means remaining open to outcomes you might not have imagined.
