Most people have heard of hypnosis but don’t know the truth about it or how it can help them.
Hypnosis is essentially just a very relaxed state and has been used for centuries. Some believe it originated in Atlantis.
When I was 16 years-old I bought a hypnosis cassette tape for memory. It worked well for me, and over 35 years later, I’m still using one of the techniques at least a couple times a week to remember important things. Around the same time I also bought a hypnosis tape for relaxation and still use those techniques successfully too.
Since then, I enjoy sharing my experience with hypnosis so others can benefit from it too.
Below are five reasons hypnosis can change your life.
Hypnosis is Safe
Thanks to hypnosis stage shows, a common false belief about hypnosis is it will make you do and say things you’d rather not. It just seems that way because participants are willing to follow directions and feel pressure to perform in front of an audience.
According to a Time article, hypnosis is completely safe: “Hypnosis is a mental state, not, per se, a treatment,” says Dr. David Spiegel, medical director of the Center for Integrative Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. “People think it is a means of taking away control, but it is actually a means of enhancing control—over perceptions such as pain, anxiety, habits, stress.” Spiegel also says, “All hypnosis is really self-hypnosis.”
Hypnosis is Valid
Do stage hypnosis participants fake it, and does hypnosis only work for those who want it to work?
According to a recent study directed by Peter Lush at the Sackler Centre for Consciousness Science at the University of Sussex, and published in the journal, Psychological Science, hypnosis participants aren’t faking it.
“Our study was set up to ensure that this degree of shift in the reported time of events cannot easily be explained by participants wishing to conform to the demands of the task. The results suggest that people who experience involuntariness are genuinely experiencing changes in the sense of agency over their actions,” Lush says in a Sussex University news release.
Hypnosis is Easy
All you need to do is relax and follow the directions. Even if you fall asleep during the process, it will still work because your subconscious mind will hear and follow the hypnotic suggestions.
You Can Use Hypnosis for Almost Anything
You can use hypnosis for stress, fears and phobias, to improve sex, relationships, public speaking, the behavior of children, confidence, self-esteem, and sense of humor, to overcome eating, drinking, smoking or drugging habits, and much more. Hypnosis is also a great tool to relax the body and conscious mind so you can access possible past life memories, or explore the wisdom of your subconscious mind and Higher Self.
Hypnosis Doesn’t Need to Be Expensive
You can experience hypnosis therapy with an expert, or you can use a hypnosis MP3 or video.
In short, hypnosis works, but like with a lot of things, you need to allow and want it to work.
